Youth and education
Evaluating youth care and (appropriate) education is essential to gain insight into its significance for children, young people, parents, teachers and care providers. What really happens in families, schools, institutions? And do treatments help? Our applications in youth and education provide answers to these questions and many other questions. This is a good basis for evaluating and shaping policy.
Budgets for youth care are skyrocketing because there is no information that municipalities can use to control the impact on the lives of children, young people and families. Narrative evaluation shows what happens in the practices, in institutions, behind the front door.
For the (Dutch) Ministry of Education, Culture and Science we developed a regional approach to increase the case-solving skills of professionals in education. Parents, children, young people, teachers / teachers, compulsory education officials and local administrators are involved in continuously making sense of the appropriateness and inappropriateness of education. Identified solutions are used smartly, barriers are broken down together.
Businessline Youthcare and education
More and more municipalities and regional partnerships are discovering that transformation of the social domain cannot be planned. The transitions (WMO, Youth care and Participation) turned out to be child’s play compared to the transformations that (should) follow.
The way in which municipalities and social services serve the social domain differs greatly. From own organizations to neighborhood teams and from open house constructions to general outsourcing. Everywhere, however, there is a need to have insight into the actual meaning of help and care.
Fortunately, there is a solution. Our applications for neighborhood / resident-oriented work give teams, organizations and municipalities an insight into the significance of public services for residents and aid / care providers. That appears to be essential for initiating and maintaining the desired transformation.
Many teams, neighborhood teams or municipal teams, struggle to make the turn from production to prevention. Finding a new balance between own strength / direction, legality and optimizing the use of public funds is also only moderately successful without a clear view of which aid and support is doing well and which is not. The neighborhood-oriented application helps to manage the balance between assignment and intention.
The social domain is broad and international. We developed the narrative monitor for the UN Convention for People with Disabilities, mapped the barriers to education / work / food in Africa and Asia, evaluated the implementation of Duch law on participation and enabled people with a low SES were involved in policy evaluation.
Businessline Social domain
There are major movements when it comes to thinking about the quality of / in healthcare. The healthcare sector is looking for new ways to make the meaning of healthcare visible. Measurement, certification and registration have largely ceased to be quality instruments.
From nursing home care, through community care and child care, a movement has been initiated that places moral and ethical aspects of care in addition to certification and professionalism. The same movement is taking place in mental health care and even in the Cure (hospitals) this realization is penetrating. This was helped by the active attitude of the Health and Society Council.
Our applications for Long-term care and Patient orientation help care organizations to translate their social tasks, unlock their care practices, evaluate them and adapt them to changing circumstances and contextual differences.
A special feature of the business line is that narrative accounting with the 4VITEA framework is an optional part of our applications. With this, internal and external stakeholders first determine the real meanings of care for people. They evaluate whether care is good. Subsequently, without normative checklists, (narrative)accountability if fulfilled
Long-term care is a special form of care because the people who receive care do not get better. Long-term care is therefore more about living, living and living than medical care. StoryConnect developed two applications for dementia care and medical nursing home care.
Patient orientation of care
Measurement, certification and registration have largely crumbled as quality instruments in healthcare. Commercial, sustainability and innovation
Narrative evaluation and justification also has added value compared to traditional market / user research, stakeholder analysis, life cycle analysis and for product development. For example, we developed narrative applications for trade fairs, agile innovation for the product industry and we mapped out the barriers to innovation in the food chain. Agile product introduction and development
The traditional development process from prototype via focus group to market introduction results in more than 80% failed innovations. Even if the “fail fast, fail often” principle is used. Agile product development combines narrative evaluation of user patterns and customer adoption with iterative further development of products. As a result, customers withdraw the product into the market during development, as it were.
