Klantverhalen werken met verhalen - Gemeente Enschede

In recent years, many steps have been taken to shape the District Guides, but it became evident that locations and teams were implementing them in their own way. Attention to collaboration, team development, working together, and learning in practice was lacking. Through learning sessions led by StoryConnect, we sought and found a shared story with all involved employees! The independent role that StoryConnect provided in facilitating the sessions ensured a neutral deepening and reflection on where we stand with the District Guides: what is going well, what we should retain, and what we want to organize differently in the coming period. The use of storytelling tables provided employees with a safe space to share their stories and experiences and seek common insights. In the second session, employees were challenged to come up with improvement points themselves, resulting in a significant shift in team engagement. Instead of ambitions that were forced on them, employees could now determine which actions they deemed important for the development of the District Guides. Ultimately, we arrived at our own top 6 priorities, widely supported by all employees, and the employees themselves are owners of these priorities. The use of StoryConnect has provided us with stability and progress in our change process. As concrete results, employees now feel collectively responsible for the success of the District Guides, and teams have visibly come closer together. Participants have also expressed that they valued the help of StoryConnect in the process!

During the implementation of the New Way of Working at the new Astellas location in Leiden, we, from Tensor Sustainable, utilized the StoryConnect solutions. On one hand, we aimed to identify risks, but at the same time, we wanted to gather the opportunities and ideas of employees in the first months after moving to the new location. Because employees could report issues quickly and actively, we were able to swiftly enhance the working experience at the new location. This approach also allowed us to promptly address less obvious problems.

Most people find it interesting to hear the personal stories about events. This was also our approach to finding out why employees leave care and welfare organizations. StoryConnect has developed a method which facilitates sharing stories in a so-called storypoint, which is accompanied by questions about the context of the story and its storyteller. This delivered a lot of useful and analyzable information. The StoryConnect professionals stand by their approach and ensure that the stories ALWAYS occupy the center stage in the process. Based on the stories a change approach is developed, involving the entire organization of the participants by sharing the insights, retrieving ideas for solutions, choosing initiatives and shaping the chosen change. For implementation, participating organizations are supported with an action learning process.

For gathering feedback for a pilot project aimed at improving youth protection in Foodvalley, Marco and Wytske from StoryConnect actively collected stories from parents and colleagues of the local team with whom we collaborate. This external perspective was very helpful in reflecting on the approach we have developed so far. The stories are impactful and provide many points for improvement. Delving into the stories in detail led to concrete actions and areas for improvement.

At the "meedenkers" (independent client supporters) in Tilburg, we had taken off successfully. With the help of their questions and highly flexible support from StoryConnect, we gathered wonderful stories about our work with our residents. After all the effort put into establishing this method (kudos to Marco and Caroline), the municipality made different choices. It's a pity because we can learn a lot from this approach! If you truly want to make an impact, deploy this method!

Storyconnect is a pro in narrative research and supporting action planning and action learning processes. The personal guidance makes Storyconnect a very valuable and warm partner in discovering patterns that make organizations get stuck on certain issues. It has certainly given us a deeper understanding, and I am truly happy that we get to continue the collaboration!

Together with StoryConnect, we collect stories from employees within our healthcare organization. These stories support, among other things, the data from traditional employee satisfaction surveys. Many of the stories are familiar to me and they contribute to my understanding. I am touched by these stories and they further motivate me to initiate small changes. Ultimately, everyone wants to go to work with a smile and work in a pleasant environment! Their guidance is very knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommended!
